The Inbox Cleanup Machine: Claude Code Empties Your Junk Mail and Gets You Off the Lists
Claude Code does the boring inbox work for you, one approved step at a time. Junk gets archived, never deleted. You get off the mailing lists for good. The first sweep takes about an hour. After that, ten minutes a week keeps it clean.
Who this is for
Your inbox is a wall of promo mail. Real email gets buried. You have never opened a terminal, and that is fine. This guide holds your hand the whole way. You approve every move. The AI does the boring part.
What you can do when you finish
- An inbox that shows only mail you want, with the junk archived and easy to find
- Far less new junk, because the unsubscribe sweep turns off the tap at the source
- A protect list that keeps bank, code, and receipt emails safe from every sweep
- A ten minute weekly habit that keeps the inbox clean for good
- Log files that record every action, so you can undo anything later
A peek at step one
1Install Claude Code
Claude Code runs from your computer's command line and needs a paid Claude plan. First install Node.js from nodejs.org. Then open Terminal on a Mac, or PowerShell on Windows. Type: npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code and press Enter. When it finishes, type claude and press Enter, then sign in. Note: Claude Code sends the email text it reads to Anthropic to sort it, so treat it like any online tool, not a fully offline one.
Every step ends with a checkpoint: exactly what you should see if it worked.
How this stays honest
- Safety first: nothing gets deleted or sent in this playbook without a backup step and your approval.
- No invented numbers. Where results are mentioned, they come from reported public cases, and yours will vary.
- Tools change. Buyers get updated versions of this playbook by email, free, whenever a step stops matching reality.
